Damien Murphy
Damien is an expert when it comes to resolving family law and will disputes, with over 15 years of experience in mediation behind him. Damien can get those who are in a bitter confrontation with one another to come to the negotiating table with the best intentions, so an agreement can be reached.
Damien seeks to understand as much as he can about those, he works with so that he can help discover the kind of satisfaction they really desire. He knows that a human sense of pride can prevent people from agreeing to terms they would otherwise accept as reasonable and seeks to help people see the flaw in their stubbornness while maintaining their dignity.
Damien recognises that if an agreement can’t be reached, it is usually because one or both sides is has a misunderstanding about some element of the proposition. He seeks to help both parties see the advantages of solving their disputes outside of court and encourages them to focus on taking an analytical approach, rather than an emotionally-charged one.
Damien believes that pretty much all disputes can be resolved via mediation and does not give up easily. He is a valuable member of the team for his ability to help parties avoid the time-consuming and expensive litigation, even when they don’t seem to get along on anything.
When he isn’t at the office or conducting a mediation, Damien enjoys spending time outdoors on his bike or hiking across the NSW bushland. Damien’s favourite proverb is ‘don’t burn your bridges behind you’.
